This is another in my series of boat reflections, taken at dusk when the water is calm and receptive to reflections. This is one of the commercial fishing boats docked approximately behind Salivar’s in Montauk.

This was the first of the “boat reflections” that I took. It was a surprise to see the abstract patterns and it prompted me to want to discover more. This photo was taken at the Town Dock in Montauk, right next to “The Dock” restaurant and Duryea’s Fish Dock.

Another photo from the west jetty beach in Montauk. This one has always reminded me of a sail.

This photo was taken in the late afternoon on the west jetty beach, near Gosman’s, in Montauk. It is one of a series of photos that I took after discovering the beautiful blue shadows cast upon sand when the sun was low in the sky. Also I love the complicated geometric patterns of the combined fences and shadows

This photo was taken on a Butterfly bush near my apartment. Montauk seems to be in the direct flight path of “monarch” migration. I’ve heard of two sightings. On was on the ocean beach near town where a cloud of monarchs was seen. The other was by my son, a landscaper, who said, “ There was a butterfly on every blade of grass in sight.” This was in a glade near the ocean.
